Why subscribe: the case for fresh coffee on a schedule

There's a version of coffee subscription that's just a discount with a recurring charge attached. That's not what we're doing.

The reason to subscribe to a roastery — a real one, that roasts to order — is freshness. And freshness isn't a marketing word. It's a flavour difference you can actually taste in the cup.

What happens to coffee after roasting

Freshly roasted coffee is alive. It off-gasses CO₂ for several days after roasting — that's why quality bags have a one-way valve. Over the following weeks, the aromatics begin to dissipate. The oils oxidise. The flavours that made the coffee interesting start to flatten.

Most coffee on supermarket shelves was roasted three to six months ago. By the time you brew it, you're working with a diminished version of what the coffee could have been.

What a subscription changes

We roast to order. Subscription orders ship within 24–48 hours of roasting. By the time the bag reaches your door, the coffee is still in its optimal window — the CO₂ has settled enough to brew well, but the aromatics are fully intact.

You choose your grind (whole bean or ground), your cadence (weekly or fortnightly), and your coffee. You can pause, skip, or cancel at any time — no phone calls required.
