About us

Strangford Coffee

Strangford Coffee Roastery started with a straightforward idea: roast good coffee, in a place worth roasting it, and do it properly from the beginning.

We're based on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down — one of the quieter corners of Northern Ireland, and a better place to roast coffee than most. The roastery sits at the water's edge. The Lough sets the rhythm. The coffee gets our full attention.

We're a family business in the proper sense — the same pair of hands that sources the beans roasts them, packs them, and sends them out. There's no warehouse, no outsourced fulfilment, no mystery in the middle. When you order from us, you know exactly where it came from and who made it.

Every bean we roast is specialty grade — scored 80+ by independent graders, sourced from farms we've chosen for quality and transparency. We work directly with growers where we can, which means better traceability for us and fairer returns for the people doing the actual growing.

We roast in small batches, to order. That's not a marketing line — it's just how we work. It means your coffee ships within 24 hours of roasting, not 24 weeks after sitting in a warehouse. The difference in the cup is real.

If you want to try it before you order, our Coffee Port hatch is open at the Ferry Slip most weekends. Come down, have a cup, ask us anything.
